Sunday Letter
SEC Chairman on Investing & Cryptocurrencies
Dear reader, The blockchain and cryptocurrency space is fast moving, to say the least. Apart from the need for operational infrastructure, having regulatory clarity is critical.
Below is a video of SEC Chairman Jay Clayton specifically addressing the SEC’s stance on how Digital Assets will be treated. Specifically, that most tokens will be treated as securities, and that the SEC does not believe that existing securities legislation needs to be changed.

We at Fusang share this view. We believe that as the blockchain space evolves, substance and structure will be critical. For institutional capital to enter this space, there will need to be institutional platforms and service providers.
I’ll be discussing in detail each of these issues facing the blockchain space in the coming weeks: primarily, those surrounding Fiat/Crypto transactions, the need for regulated exchanges and counterparties who can deal in Security Tokens, and the need for Digital Asset Custodians.
But first, a look back next week at a whole different Gold Rush.
Yours Sincerely,
Henry Chong
